2007 1st annual Pride In Beijing Family Day Fun Run
September 16th, 2007: The 1st annual Pride In Beijing Family Day Fun Run was sucessfully held at Shunyi's Grasse Town last sunday. Supported by Grasse Town the International School of Beijing and tbjkids, the event drew over 200 people for family activities and the fun run.
A performance by a kids rock band CRASH formed by three ISB students age 10-11, was a highlight. The 1st three place winners for the men's and women's 5K Run received trophies, as well as the 1st three places runners for 2K run/walk. Baby Victor Dean has received Youngest Kid Participation Award.He completed a 2.5K run/walk with his mother Echo while cheering for his mother from a stroller.
The money raised will support the Pride Project - an initiative from the Pride Institute. The Pride Institute is a non profit organization whose goal is to encourage courtesy, etiquette and positive peer pressure in daily life. Pride aims at helping fellow Chinese citizens to establish globally respectable behavior and prepare Beijing and China for the 2008 Olympics.
