Have we forgotten about kids between the ages of 9 thru 14

It seems as though everything is geared towards newborns, toddlers and small kids, to help foster the little emperor phenomenon. I have seen very few things geared towards older kids. There are many older foreign kids in Beijing who do not attend international schools but desire the social activities with other foreign and Chinese kids.

If we take the last Halloween kids party given by TBJ for example, nothing there was geared towards older kids. In fact, last year there was at least some 7 - 9 year old kids at last years event with act ivies geared towards them but this year everything was geared towards toddlers. Next year I wonder if only newborns will attend.

It would be nice if there was a community center where all of the kids from the ages of 9 to 16 could go on a daily basis.

Just my thoughts.

Re: Have we forgotten about kids between the ages of 9 thru ...

Most of our events are targeted towards younger kids because of the demographics of our audience ... according to reader surveys, 98% of Beijing Kids families have at least one child under 10.

But your point is well taken, we are also looking to conduct events for older kids as well. Perhaps you could offer us some suggestions for types of events you'd like to see.
