Baomu for Expats?

Does anybody know about so-called baomu's?
Chinese often use this service, a baomu is a woman who takes care of the mother and the newborn baby and lives with the family during the first 30 days. They are educated in all one has to know about newborn babies.

We are looking for such a service, but as our Chinese is very limited, it would be great to find somebody with basic English knowledge concerning the terminology around this profession. We do not need somebody who can talk in English about buying fruits and vegetables, but if she knew some terms in her field, like "umbilical cord" or "breast milk", that would be very helpful.

Any ideas where we could find that special someone?

THANK YOU!

Re: Baomu for Expats?

Eh, I speak quite a bit of Chinese, and I have yet to be impressed by any of the baomus that I have seen [used to take my kid to XieHe for checkups and would run into a few there] -- they all seemed to be particularly well versed in the old wives' tales but not much on the actual scientific info, so you are likely to get as much misinformation as actual information if you do find someone. Much better to just get one Ayi and stick with her.
