New Nice Area For Family in Shunyi

The new area, Lakeview, surrounded by man-made lake officially opened last Sunday. In this area, there are some sport places including play-ground for children, foot pitch, tennis court, basketball court and golf course, restaurants covers many styles including Middle est, Russian and German. There are also pet's store, DVD store with good selection, meat store, foreign product convenient store, and spar for tired mothers. It is good to hang out with family there.

I just took my son there this morning. We visited the new coffee shop, and we quite liked it. He had a hot chocolate and a waffle w syrup. (cocoa was 18RMB; waffle was 15RMB). He said the waffle was "awesome." I had a caramel macchiatto (35RMB for a large) - also good. They sell omelettes and sandwiches and salads, too.
The place was almost empty - maybe because it's summer and lots of people have gone home? But you can sit outside and the kids can run around the fountain while you sip your latte - very nice. It's a good alternative to the Pinnacle Plaza Starbucks, though service won't be as fast.
We tried out the Mexican place last weekend (Los Meches). It was very good, and the service was good too. Quesadillas weren't greasy. Loved the salsa! We sat out on the 2nd story porch overlooking the lake. I'd recommend it.
