Baby Lore (predictions from the womb)

So I've recently become interested in reading about the different predictions various cultures have about babies before they are born. For instance, so many cultures try to guess the baby's gender on things such as which side of the womb the baby kicks at, what food the mother ate, if the baby is located high or low, and which phase of the moon the child was conceived during.

So moms out there--did any of your predictions come true? Or did you correctly sense what sex your child would be?

My mother was convinced I was going to be a boy, like her previous two children. Wrong! I was also an extremely late baby--a sign of a late-riser? Perhaps.

I'm sure you guys have better stories to tell than I do.

Also, what DOES it mean if a baby kicks like crazy? Next David Beckham, unhappy with something, excited about something, uncomfortable?

Re: Baby Lore (predictions from the womb)

chinese people have many ways to predict the gender of the baby. check out this tbjkids article here: http://www.tbjkids.com/magazine/2007/09/04/What-Will-It-Be

some of them are so funny! i.e. this one:

"If a mom starts craving long, thin vegetables, it's a boy
If she starts to like round vegetables, it’s a girl"

lol....

Re: Baby Lore (predictions from the womb)

I still remember when I was pregnant with my first child, a really rude lady told me I was definitely having a girl because "girls ruin their mothers' beauty." Harsh, huh? And it was a boy.

Since then, I've had bunches of babies, and while each pregnancy has been completely different, there's one constant: with the girl babies, I'm always sick as a dog. But the boy babies don't affect me that way.

i know what you mean. when my good friend was pregnant, an acquaintance of hers kept telling her, "it must be a boy 'coz you're getting uglier!" it really pissed her off. and it was a girl! some people can be so clueless heh.

my pregnant friend's going to have a baby boy too (8 months pregnant!), and she never really felt very sick, either. although it's different for each individual, i think.
