Hi
I am an american man and my wife is chinese. We are going to have a child and I am now doing research on hospitals.
I wish to hear from anyone about which hosptial they went to and the experience here in china.
My wife said there is a birthing hosptial(forgot the name(haha)) and wonder if anyone, woman specifically, would have some advice.
foreign fathers would really be appreciated to talk to more for support and all because its already difficult living in a foreign country, now i have to learn about more specifics in this area. difficult.
i dont know a single foreign father in beijing

We have quite the opposite situation to you as I am French and my husband is French too but from Chinese origin and speaks/reads mandarin. So he is half foreign father to be.
I posted a thread in the pregnancy division of this forum about Beijing United Family Hospital as I am not really satisfied about their services, especially on the human care side. I don't think they are less competent than others but just don't care about the feelings of the patients.
But as your wife is chinese then she could go in a very good chinese hospital (no need for her that the docors can speak english as it is a requirement for me). I was told that the best chinese doctors even trained abroad are in the chinese hospital. I think the Pekin Union nearby Wangfujing is a good one. Amcare Women Hospital near Lido has also good reputation with chinese doctors speaking english.
Hope this will help. I have chinese friends which will have baby too and will ask them where they plan to go if that can help you.
If you want to stick with a "foreign" hospital, then it depends also on your insurance cover as most expensive ones such as Beijing United ask more than 80000 RMB for normal birth.... So you may thin twice before enrolling somewhere!
